About AEI

Not a Temporary Fix.
A Catalyst.

We are the Armenia Education Initiative, and we're engineering an education revolution in Armenia. After a decade of grassroots impact, we are an ambitious ecosystem of initiatives driving nationwide, systemic change.

We don't just ask for gradual progress; we demand a transformation of Armenia's education system by 2050. Our approach is bold, strategic, and future-focused, attacking inequity at its roots from every angle: developing leaders, reimagining schools, shaping public policy, and sparking innovation. We are building a movement of problem-solvers ready to rewrite the nation's future. And we're just getting started.

This isn't a feel-good project—it's a strategic imperative for our country's future. And we are all in.

Our Vision 2050

Education Transforms a Nation

Armenia faces stark disparities—rural and border communities left behind, talents untapped, and a generation that has survived crisis after crisis. Our vision is to turn this reality on its head. By 2050, we envision an Armenia where every child—no matter their village location or socioeconomic status—unlocks their full potential and leads a life of choice.

Classrooms in border villages will be as empowered and innovative as those in Yerevan, or any other world capital. Education will be the great equalizer that fuels Armenia's growth. We refuse to settle for 'good enough.'

Our Mission

Reimagining Public Education

To reimagine and repurpose Armenia's public education system by uniting innovative programs, advancing policy reform, and institutionalizing sustainable models, empowering a generation of educators, students, and leaders to shape the country's future.

Our Ecosystem

Our Ecosystem Approach

Achieving a goal as sweeping as a national education renaissance requires attacking the problem from multiple fronts at once. Teach For Armenia has evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem of programs, each addressing a critical lever of change.

Teach For Armenia

Cultivating the next generation of education leaders through a rigorous two-year teaching program, placing outstanding young leaders in underserved classrooms. Our core talent engine, developing leadership in the classroom.

Seroond Schools

Turning around underserved schools by fostering leadership at every level (students, teachers, principals, parents) and creating model 'bright spot' schools that can be replicated system-wide.

Káits Incubator

Accelerating education innovation by empowering our alumni and partners to launch groundbreaking solutions—from startups to nonprofits—that tackle education and social challenges in new ways.

Public Policy Lab

Arming rising policy leaders (our alumni) with data and expertise to craft evidence-based education policies, ensuring systemic change is institutionalized at the government level.

Teacher Pathways

Elevating the teaching profession through advanced degree programs and certifications (developed with top universities) so educators across Armenia have world-class training and credentials.

Education in Emergencies

Mobilizing rapid response programs to ensure learning never stops for children in crisis—whether in war, displacement, or pandemic—reaffirming that every child's education is non-negotiable.

These components don't operate in silos—they reinforce one another as a cohesive movement. A teacher trained through the Teacher Leadership Program might become a school turnaround leader in Seroond, then launch an innovative education venture via Káits, and eventually help write national policy through our Public Policy Lab. This leadership pathway ensures that short-term classroom impact grows into long-term systemic change.

Our Approach

Data-Driven. Evidence-Based. Accountable.

A cornerstone of our approach is that we are data-driven in everything. We believe you can't change what you don't measure, and you can't convince others without evidence.

Robust Internal Systems

We monitor student outcomes (academic, leadership), teacher growth, community feedback, and more across all programs. We hold ourselves accountable by transparently reporting in our annual reports and evaluations.

UCLA Partnership

We partnered with the UCLA School of Education—the #1 ranked education grad school in the U.S.—to conduct an external study of our impact on students. We're not afraid to put ourselves under the microscope.

Ministry Collaboration

We've built strong relationships with the Ministry of Education, formalized by an MoU as an official partner. We're often at the table for discussions on education reforms.

Global Network

As part of the Teach For All network, we co-lead global efforts and bring international best practices home. If a policy succeeded in Estonia or Finland, we channel that example here.

Bold Enough to Believe?

Teach For Armenia has become more than a program—it's an entire educational movement. We are cultivating an ecosystem of impact: teachers, school leaders, policymakers, and social entrepreneurs, all working in concert to reinvent Armenian education.
